The serene valley of flowers is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It lies approximately at a distance of 300 km to the north of Rishikesh. This particular valley is home to around a thousand untamed wildflowers that bloom during the peak of spring. The place is open to visitors from around the world from June to September of every year. The valley of flowers was declared a world heritage site in 1932 and, ever since, has been a rich tourist spot for millions of people. - Ghangaria:
Ghangaria is the last human vegetation on the way to Hemkund Sahib, which is literally the lake of snow. This place, however, remains closed during the winter months due to the heavy snowfall in winter.

The lake is cold as snow and thus located at the highest elevation of about 4329 metres above sea level. There is also a star-shaped Gurudwara near the lake that is home to thousands of devotees every year.
